Cherie Deering has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She and her husband successfully owned and operated a medical waste transportation company, along with the first medical waste autoclave treatment facility in Broward County, Florida—giving her extensive expertise in the rules and regulations of the healthcare waste industry.

As President of Biomed Waste Corporation and Steritronix Inc., Cherie provided compliance trainings and developed policies and procedures for a wide range of organizations, including hospitals, correctional facilities, medical and dental practices, veterinary hospitals, tattoo parlors, funeral homes, home health agencies, and biomedical waste companies. After selling the company, she continued her passion for education by training healthcare professionals in OSHA, Department of Health Biomedical Waste Management, HIPAA, and DOT HazMat regulations.

Cherie’s expertise in assessing, developing, implementing, and monitoring healthcare compliance programs has made her a trusted resource in the industry. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Loyola University in Chicago and is an OSHA Authorized Trainer for 10- and 30-hour General Industry courses, covering bloodborne pathogens, hazard communication, emergency action plans, and more. She is also a member of the Health Care Compliance Association and the Florida Environmental Health Association (FEHA).

Cherie is also approved by the Florida Department of Health to conduct classroom based training for Tattoo Artist licensure on bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases.
